TATAOUI Branding, 2017
TATAOUI - TE-RE project, developed by ARCS NGO in collaboration with IRA and funded by AICS, aims to promote socio-economic development in Tataouine, Tunisia. Over a 3-year period (2016-2019), the project focuses on enhancing traditional knowledge to support self-employment and integration of women and youth in rural villages.
TATAOUI, a company established during the project, promotes local products, offers tourist services, and showcases the region's heritage.
Because TATAOUI aims to promote local heritage and know-how.
In turn, the region of Tataouine basks in the heat climate's glory that is the favor of creating an amazing experience for region visitors and, mainly, making good quality products.

These three elements are incarnated in Line Art icons where the sun symbolizes the heat climate, the Ksour for local heritage and the hand to represent the know-how of natives and their handmade products.
Icons are putted inside squares which indicates the check-list aspect which is the first thing that comes to mind after spelling the word "OUI" (Yes in English).
The brand name is also put inside a check squares, that will consistent it with the logo's emblem.

" It was in 2018, during the implementation of an international cooperation project in southern Tunisia, a project of which I was the coordinator, that I met Souad Ghaffari.
Entrusting such a task to a young woman of 22, who at the time did not yet have much experience to show, was not an easy decision, but frankly I immediately had the impression of having in front of me a person of great potential.
Souad and I agreed that we should avoid presenting rural women's products in the traditional way, as a kind of "poor version" of industrial products. On the contrary, it was necessary to show the strength and dynamism of these women. And this is what Souad managed to express through her work, carried out in a participatory method with the women themselves.
To give an idea of the results of Souad's work, it is enough to say that the "TATAOUI" brand received in 2019 the First National Prize for the development of local products, awarded by the Tunisian Prime Minister during a ceremony broadcast on the main national television channel.
